One of the missions of CIRTN-R2FIC is to enhance mentorship and trainee career development in the network. Related resources, upcoming events, and current job opportunities can be found below.

The CIRTN-R2FIC Mentorship Working Group was established in March of 2021. If you are interested in joining or volunteering for a mentorship initiative, please contact Mathieu Ferron.

  • Papa PhD: Career and life balance exploration for academics and graduate researchers. Podcast and other resources in English and French.
  • Trace McGill: Producing a detailed statistical picture of the career outcomes of McGill PhD graduates by telling the stories of their education and career paths.
  • IRCM Career Series 2022: The series begins January 25th and is open to the trainees of the CIRTN-R2FIC network! We are happy to present to you eight new speakers coming from various professional fields through a series of four Zoom conferences. During these sessions, you will get the chance to ask questions to our guests through a live Q&A to learn more about their academic background, transition from academia to the workforce, and their current work positions.   • University of Alberta Career Center Seminars: These free seminars give you the basic information you need to prepare your work search tools, strengthen your LinkedIn profile, succeed at career fairs, and look for work.
  • Canadian Student Health Research Forum 2022 (CSHRF): This forum will provide an opportunity for doctoral research trainees (PhD and MD/PhD) from all areas of health care and from across the country to present their work, network, and be recognized for their excellent contributions.
